As one of Maine's premier outdoor leadership and environmental education programs, Rippleffect has provided unique kayaking adventures for Maine youth for more than ten years. In the coming months Rippleffect will be providing educational adventures, leadership training and community building opportunities for hundreds of Maine youth as they share in the beauty of the Maine Coast. Rippleffect collaborates with schools, social service organizations, community groups, businesses and local supporters to make programs accessible to kids - regardless of their ability to pay. Cow Island in Casco Bay is owned by Rippleffect and used for the core of its ecological education. The Island operates on solar power, stores rainwater, maintains a thriving organic garden and chicken coop, and composts all organic waste.
