About Indiana Thrift for AIDS, Inc.
Indiana Thrift for AIDS, founded in 1997, grew out of the need to raise increasing amounts of money to assist those affected by HIV/AIDS and their families. Today, Indy Thrift (as it is called by locals) accomplishes its mission by reselling donated items and providing a portion of the proceeds to the Indiana AIDS Fund, a grant-making organization that makes monetary donations to AIDS-related organizations. Indiana Thrift for AIDS is also a very important part of its community, providing a low-cost alternative for many who are unable to afford shopping at traditional retailers. The success of the store is evident -- within four short years, the store has grown four times larger than its original size. The goal of Indiana Thrift for AIDS is to become a virtually self-supporting source of funds for the Indiana AIDS Fund.
