Crossroads for Kids has been unlocking opportunities for at-risk Boston area youth to transform their lives for over 75 years. Through immersive year-round and summer camp programs, our experienced, specially trained and caring staff counsels, nurtures, and builds critical trusting long-term relationships with participants, many who have experienced or are currently in crisis situations such as homelessness, violence, abuse, or neglect.

Serving over 1000 Boston area youth each year, Crossroads for Kids offers kids valuable life skills and a consistently safe place to turn regardless of their current situation.  By immersing children ages 7-17 in a safe, supportive community, we help prepare them to meet life’s challenges as they learn, grow, and discover their own unique potential. Sometimes the impact on their lives is as simple as offering a safe place to spend the summer and learn how to handle their current life situation, or providing a chance for them to experience success. Other times the transformations involve remarkable improvements in academic performance, problem solving, conflict resolution, and self confidence.   

Many participants grow to become Apprentices and junior staff members, take part in career readiness programs and share insights with younger kids from their own experiences to help deal with a difficult situation or navigate through challenging life transitions. Long term participation in our programs means our kids are more likely to graduate from high school and pursue higher education than if they did not participate. Additionally, we provide intensive leadership development and community service experiences, helping kids achieve and in many cases exceed their goals.  Crossroads for Kids provides the community, counseling and resources to help kids begin to make healthy and safe choices in their lives and for their futures.
