Good Mews was founded in 1988 by Gloria Skeen who wanted to find an alternative to shelters that euthanize animals. We provide a no-kill, cage-free environment for our residents with regular meals and extensive medical care. Cats are caged only for medical observation and a 14-day quarantine period upon arrival to the shelter. Otherwise, the cats are free to roam the shelter, interacting with each other, volunteers and visitors. We find loving homes for all our cats or they have a home for life at Good Mews. No cat is ever euthanized to make room for another cat.
