SFCASA is the only volunteer program in San Francisco that empowers everyday citizens to become officers of the court to serve as advocates and mentors to abused and neglected children in foster care. In an overburdened and under-funded social welfare system, foster children can slip through the cracks without caring and consistent adults to speak up on their behalf. SFCASA volunteers change that. They provide judges with the crucial information needed to make sound decisions that affect the lives of foster children.
During 2008, SFCASA volunteers provided 42,000 hours of advocacy and mentoring to San Francisco’s most vulnerable children and youth – helping to find them safe and permanent homes, to improve their school performance, and encouraging them to become healthy and productive citizens.
Your financial support will help us to bring SFCASA advocacy and mentoring to more children in 2009 than ever before—we can do it with your help!
