About Consortium of Developmental Disabilities Councils, Inc.

The Consortium of Developmental Disabilities Councils (CDDC) is a bipartisan, member-driven national association of State-level Developmental Disabilities Councils. Established under the Federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, these Councils (which have at least 50% consumer membership) strive on a daily basis to create positive systems change, build capacity, and advocate for needed policy changes. CDDC provides its members with low cost, high quality training and technical assistance in meeting their goals, information on Federal legislative and regulatory issues impacting the quality of life of people with developmental disabilities, assistance in public relations, and access to a nationwide network of resources in developmental disabilities. CDDC is a "21st Century" organization: it has no offices, "staff" work is performed by expert contractors, and vitually all organizational business is accomplished by "Task Teams" via the Internet and conference calls. Our one annual "face-to-face" training conference consistently receives superior reviews.
