POETRY SOCIETY OF AMERICA

Start Fundraising

The nation's oldest poetry organization, The Poetry Society of America (PSA) was founded in 1910 in order to create a public forum for the advancement and dissemination of poetry. Since that time, a diverse membership of poets and readers has supported the PSA's activities, including such luminaries as W. H. Auden, Robert Frost, Langston Hughes, Wallace Stevens, John Ashbery and Adrienne Rich. The PSA works to foster its mission to place poetry at the crossroads of American life by raising public awareness of poetry, deepening the understanding of it, and encouraging more people to read, listen to and write poetry. The PSA conducts a variety of interconnected programs across the country, all designed to introduce culturally and aesthetically diverse poets to expanding audiences of all levels of literary involvement. The PSA is renowned for its extensive programming for the nation's growing poetry audiences.
