Start Fundraising

The mission of the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning is to create and support programs that foster literacy and learning as a lifelong process. The Carnegie Center provides innovative programs communities need that aren''t available at libraries, schools, and arts facilities due to gaps in services or high costs. Families learn together in a comfortable atmosphere. Due to the Carnegie Center''s unique mix of creative literacy and learning programs for beginning to master learners, it is nationally considered as a one-of-a-kind organization. Founded in 1992 and based in Lexington''s original public library building, the Carnegie Center was named in honor of Philanthropist Andrew Carnegie who provided a majority of building costs for the structure in 1902.
