In 1966, Pete Seeger resolved to "build a boat to save the river" that would bring people to the shores of the Hudson River where they would see the pollution despoiling its waters and want to protect it. Over more than three decades, Pete''s original concept has grown into an innovative template for environmental education, grassroots advocacy, and inspiration. Today, Clearwater provides students, families and concerned citizens with education and tools that help them protect the River and the environment in their own communities.
