The Hepatitis Education Project was formed by a group of hepatitis C patients who were frustrated by the lack of information and resources available for those with the disease. The patients started a support group in Seattle, and from that support group the Hepatitis Education project was born. HEP now works with more than 25 support groups in the Pacific Northwest. HEP also publishes a newsletter on hepatitis that comes out quarterly and operates a hepatitis patient resource center in Seattle, WA. This center is open to the public and has information for patients, family members, social service providers, and medical personnel - anyone who has questions about hepatitis.
