About Workers' Children's Fund
The WCF was established in 1986 by Child Protective Services Workers of the San Francisco Human Services Agency (SF HSA). The organization was formed in response to a serious shortfall in available resources for abused and neglected children. Our purpose is to improve the quality of life of foster children and other children at risk, whose families are or have been under the supervision of SF HSA’s Family & Children’s Services. By raising funds and coordinating donations, the WCF is able to enrich children’s lives by providing them with resources not readily available through public funding. WCF gives monetary grants for specific purposes for individual children referred by their social workers, attorneys, therapists, caregivers, or CASA workers.
