sharingVillage Groups (sVG) is a self-help/educational organization dedicated to the social, emotional, physical and spiritual well being of cancer survivors from time of diagnosis through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and beyond in groups of unconditional support. Given the realization that cancer challenges the human condition on all fronts, it is the goal of sVG to encourage patients to gather the courage and dignity necessary to confront their own personal battle through a design of patient to patient mentoring, community, family and individual support utilizing "wounded healers," or those who have already walked the path that the newly diagnosed will begin. The sharingVillage program is designed to be an integrative complement to medical treatment using compassionate healing, thereby treating the patient as a whole. Our groups are hand made by and with professional group facilitators who are similarly diagnosed. Our patients remain with us well into remission and beyond, as they work to construct a post-treatment lifestyle. This is a program for life.
