Project Peanut Butter continues to help many thousands malnourished children of southeast Africa. Because of generous donations, peanut butter-based Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), an energy-dense lipid paste very similar to commercial peanut butter, has been successfully used in home-based care as the primary therapeutic food, after an initial inpatient phase, for severely malnourished children to affect a more lasting recovery.
