Description: The rescue of orphaned, abused and abandoned children with an emphasis on children forced into prostitution and used as child sex slaves.

Mission: JOY International was founded in 1980 for the purpose of bringing "JOY" into the lives of children who know nothing but sorrow and especially those children who live in fear. We recently had a shift in our focus and are now concentrating on the rescue and rehabilitation of children who are trafficked into the global child sex trade industry. After being rescued, the majority of these children are stricken with AIDS and are in need of medical and emotional healing. Part of that healing process is to try and get the children into an environment where they can understand and experience what a true loving family is. Our hope is to help these children live as normal and productive a life as possible. For those who have already been diagnosed with AIDS we desire to see them healed. For those beyond healing - we want to give them "dignity before death."
