Founded in 1987, the mission of Foothill AIDS Project (FAP) is to improve the lives of those affected by or at risk for HIV/AIDS through comprehensive support services and to help prevent HIV infection through education and outreach. FAP has also been providing housing-related services for low-income individuals and families, as well as people with disabilities since 1998. FAP services an area that extends from the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles, through San Bernardino County into Western Riverside County. FAP has offices in the cities of Claremont, Pomona, San Bernardino, and Riverside. Last year, FAP provided services to nearly 1,500 individuals in four core programs: 1) HIV/AIDS medical case management and supportive care services, including mental health and substance abuse counseling, food, and transportation services; 2) HIV/AIDS-specific housing services; 3) housing services for the general homeless population; and 4) HIV Education and Risk Reduction for Communities of Color.
