Project HOPEFUL's Stomp Stigma 5K
We are excited to announce that in conjunction with our Team Truth 1/2 marathon, this year we will run the Stomp Stigma 5K on the same day! Designed especially for our youngest supporters (but open to any runners), the 5K starts after the 1/2 marathon. Runners will enjoy the wild cheering of fans all the way to the finish of their 5K.
YOU are invited to join Team TRUTH's first ever STOMP STIGMA 5k as we raise funds for our mission to educate, encourage, and enable families and individuals to advocate for and adopt children with HIV/AIDS and other of the most overlooked children for adoption.
Together we will train for and participate in the 5K Race on September 8, 2013. Not a runner? That's alright! For many, this is the first running event that they have participated in. You CAN do it!
We ask each Stomp Stigma runner to register here and through the official 5K site to secure your place in the race. We can't wait to see what this year will bring!
Come join us! Be part of Team Truth's STOMP STIGMA by following these simple steps:
1. Click on "Join Now" on the top of this page. This is where you will register as part of Stomp Stigma! Create your personal fundraising page to share your story and engage with your friends and family!
2. Also register for the race at http://www.chicagohalfmarathon.com/Top_Nav/5K_Information.htm.
3. Begin fundraising. It's easy. Just tell everyone you know that you are running to help the most forgotten orphans find forever families, and point them to this webpage so they can support your mission with their pocketbook (or their feet -- they can run with you!).
Not able to come to Chicago but love to run/walk/compete? No problem! Just click here and send a message to learn how you can turn ANY race or event into one where you can represent Team TRUTH!
A little about the 5K from the half marathon website:
"The Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K will take place on September 8, the same day as the Chicago Half Marathon, and actually uses the same start line and finish line as the Chicago Half. The Hyundai Hope on Wheels 5K will start at approximately 7:45 a.m. and will be a great opportunity for friends and families to participate before they cheer their loved ones on to the finish. The Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K will carry a 50-minute time limit for completion, or 16 minute per mile pace. The course will take you through beautiful Jackson Park and participants will receive many of the same perks as the half marathon participants."
