Horizon Theatre’s mission is to inspire hope, connect people and promote positive change in our world through the stories of our times. Founded in 1984, Horizon Theatre has been a leader in the production and development of contemporary theatre in the Southeast. We present professional Atlanta, Southeastern and World Premieres of new and recent plays and develop new artists and audiences who are engaged with our mission through education and outreach. Now in our 26th season, we seek outstanding new plays that reflect or challenge the lives of the diverse people living in the urban Southeast. Horizon Theatre reaches nearly 40,000 individuals annually through our 5 play mainstage season, New South Play Festival, Family Series, Senior Ensemble, New South Young Playwrights’ Festival, and Apprentice & Intern Companies.
