Description: The Houston Area Women's Center provides shelter, counseling, and support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and education to prevent that violence.

Mission: The Houston Area Women's Center provides emergency safe shelter, individual and group counseling, and support services including housing and legal advocacy to survivors of domestic and sexual, as well as to their friends and family. The Women's Center has rape crisis and domestic violence hotlines, both which operate 24-hours a day. All services are provided in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. The Women's Center educates and informs the community in order to prevent and eliminate the causes of domestic and sexual violence. Educational presentations are made to schools, faith-based communities, law enforcement, medical professionals and other community groups.
