About Center Against Domestic Violence
Description: The Center Against Domestic Violence, which was founded as the Center for the Elimination of Violence in the Family, Inc. in 1976 by the NYC Mayor's Task Force on Rape, the Brooklyn YWCA and the National Congress of Neighborhood Women, provides shelter, education and a network of supportive services to battered women and their children.
Mission: Center Against DV is dedicated to preventing violence within the family and to promoting the well-being and economic independence of women and children through safe shelters, a network of supportive services, advocacy, coalitions, education and resource information services.
