Mission: AFA's mission is "to provide optimal care and services to individuals confronting Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses, and their families--through member organizations dedicated to improving quality of life." AFA raises awareness of the care issues related to Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, educates consumers about the disease and the importance of early diagnosis, provides support services for individuals with the disease and their families, and trains healthcare professionals in order to raise the bar on care.
