About Maryland SPCA of Baltimore City, Inc.
Description: The Maryland SPCA operates one of the state's largest animal adoption centers, which also includes education for pet owners. We work with groups throughout Maryland to find homes for pets. We sent staff to do relief work taking care of rescued animals in the Gulf after Hurricane Katrina.
Mission: The Maryland SPCA mission is to prevent cruetly and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. It is a private, nonprofit independent organization. It operates primarily in the Greater Baltimore metropolitan area. The mission is accomplished through education, advocacy, active direct care, pet population control, and screened adoptions.
