826 Seattle
826 Seattle is a nonprofit writing and tutoring center dedicated to helping young people improve their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around our belief that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. All programs at 826 Seattle are free of charge.
“Before 826 Seattle, my world was my school and my bedroom. I’ve been here four years now, and I don’t feel like I’m even the same person. I’m a lot more confident with who I am and what I do and what I say.” -- Meron Kasahun, 826 Seattle student, as quoted in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, December 2011.
