The CARE Center will be hosting the 10th annual “iGOLF because iCARE” tournament and fund raiser on October 22, 2012 at the Robert Trent Jones Course in Hampton Cove.

Our goal for this year’s tournament is to raise $60,000

The proceeds of this tournament will help to support our “Fuel their Hunger to Learn Project.” This project involves multiple CARE Center supported education intiatives for our service area including the New Hope and Owens Cross Roads School campuses.

When you support the CARE Center's Golf Tournament you can help to change the life of a child. Just a few of the programs impacted by your generosity include:

• Our Bags of Blessings (BOB) ministry. This program provides weekend food support to 350 student each Friday. These children are enrolled in the free lunch and breakfast program at New Hope Elementary and Owens Cross Roads Elementary Schools.  Without this program these students would often go hungry over the weekends.

 

• Our partnership with New Hope High School. We currently are have three primary focus areas at the high school which include our:  iHope Project: Building Classrooms without Wall; Stephen Covey’s “The Leader in Me,” pilot program; and "The Heritage Panel” a peer mentoring program and a CARE Center student led advisory board.

To impact the life of a child requires an “all hands on deck approach.” We can no longer afford to wait because the cost of doing nothing far exceeds the cost of acting. Increasing student success rates will drastically decrease the number of families seeking assistance from the CARE Center’s food pantry and other emergency services. If we are able to radically change the outcomes for these students we can profoundly alter the future of our friends, neighbors, and the surrounding local economies.

**If you are unable to participate in this year's   "iGolf Golf Because  iCARE" golf tournament, but you still want to get involved simply click on the register button at the top of the events page. Once you click to register select:Virtual Golfer/Event Fund Raiser at the bottom of the registration page.  From there you can register with First Giving and join a golf team as a fund raiser or create your own team name to fund raise under. Once you've joined our team, simply create your own fund raising page to share with your friends and help the CARE Center meet its golf tournament fund raising goals.
