The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) believes that animals, as living creatures, have value beyond economic measurement, and are entitled to legal, moral and ethical consideration and protection. Our 60 staff members and 450 volunteers are dedicated to our mission to instill respect and appreciation for all living things; to promote humane and anti-violence education; to protect animals against violence (often a precursor to violence against people); to provide for the well-being of animals that are injured, ill, abused, or otherwise in need; and to promote a bond of mutual assistance between people and animals.
