Action for Healthy Kids & Team Healthy Kids has a LIMITED number of post-close charity entries into the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Join Team Healthy Kids and Ultra Marathon Man, Dean Karnazes are run CHICAGO!

Even though registration for the Chicago Marathon has closed, Action for Healthy Kids has a limited amount of post-close charity entries that will enable you to ‘Run’ Chicago on October 7, 2012.

To Become a Team Healthy Kids Runner:

  1. Contact Seth Kopf at chicagomarathon@actionforhealthykids.org to express your interest in running for Team Healthy Kids
  2. Complete the Bank of America Charity Runner Form and the Team Healthy Kids Waiver and Commitment Form
  3. Return both Forms to Seth Kopf by email to chicagomarathon@actionforhealthykids.org
  4. Visit the Team Healthy Kids team page & click the green ‘Join Now’ button to set up your personalized fundraising page

The information you provide on the Charity Runner Form will be used for your Marathon registration. Your credit card will be charged the $150 marathon registration fee, and you will receive confirmation of your registration by both the Chicago Marathon and by Action for Healthy Kids.

Team Healthy Kids Members Receive:

  • Technical training shirt and singlet
  • FREE customized 18-week training program through Kopf Running
  • Personalized fundraising page & support from the AFHK team
  • ‘Toe the start line’ with Ultra Marathon Man, Dean Karnazes
  • Post-race team event with Dean Karnazes!

You’ll certainly be running for an important cause.  Every dollar you raise will go to support our fight against childhood obesity. We hope you’ll be part of Team Healthy Kids and the more than 45,000 marathoners who will take to the streets on Sunday, October 7th for the 26.2-mile journey!

NOTE: All Team Healthy Kids runners utilizing a ‘post-close’ entry must set and achieve a minimum $1,000 fundraising goal. Team members who registered during the ‘open’ registration period must set & achieve a $500 fundraising goal. More information and details regarding your fundraising commitment are included in the Team Healthy Kids Waiver and Commitment Form.

Finally...Please know that becoming a 'charity runner' for Team Healthy Kids and fundraising $1,000 is TOTALLY DOABLE. In 2011, the more than 10,000 charity runners in last year's Chicago Marathon raised an average of nearly $1,200.
