3rd Annual Ride or Stride for Rescues!
Register today and join bikers, walkers, joggers, and bladers who will be raising money to support ARFhouse Chicago, a no-kill animal shelter. The event takes place in the Cook County Forest Preserve at the Bunker Hill picnic site in Skokie. This year we’re expanding the event to include your leashed 4-legged friends. You can participate with or without a dog, in memory of a beloved pet, in honor of your cat, or just out of the goodness of your heart.
Participants will enjoy the following benefits:
- Option of a 15-mile bike ride or 5k (3.1mi) walk/jog/blade *dogs only permitted for 5K option
- Webpage you can personalize with your pet's photo and story
- Exclusive event t-shirt if you register by August 15
- Picnic brunch and refreshments after your ride or stride
- Prize eligibility based on fundraising
- Knowing that you’re helping ARFhouse Chicago continue to place homeless cats and dogs with loving families!
Canine participants will receive:
- Free registration
- a special event bandana
- healthy treats
- lots of attention!

Registration is $25 per person, or waive the registration fee by earning at least $25 through fundraising. Children 12 and under participate for free. Can't attend? Register as a "Virtual Rider", set up your personalized fundraising page and participate in spirit.

ARFhouse Chicago (Animal Refuge Foundation) is a no-kill animal shelter staffed by volunteers. We currently house our animals in foster homes and boarding facilities. All of our animals are current on vaccinations, heartworm checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped and receive routine medical check ups. We pride ourselves on the level of care, commitment, and medical attention that our animals receive. We are an Illinois non-for-profit organization with federal charitable 501(c)(3) designation, all donations for this event are tax deductible.
