 We need your help!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashua & Greater Salem is hosting our 30th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake Fundraising Campaign from April through June at Merrimack Ten Pin.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the largest community-wide fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters. It is a campaign to raise funds and awareness in support of matching children with volunteer mentors through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. The campaign is comprised of several bowling events, bringing individuals and organizations together to have fun while also securing needed pledges of support.

Participating in this fundraising event has never been more important for the children in our program. While the number of mentoring relationships between volunteers and children continues to grow, so does the number of children referred to our program. In 2011 we served over 450 children with a Big Brother or Big Sister in 16 communities (Amherst, Atkinson, Brookline, Derry, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Londonderry, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Nashua, Plaistow, Salem, Wilton, & Windham).

For 30 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Most children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated. We partner with parents/guardians, volunteers and others in the community and hold ourselves accountable for each child in our program achieving:

• Higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships
• Avoidance of risky behaviors
• Educational success

All of our energies, systems, child safety procedures, training, and activities are focused solely on effecting positive outcomes for at-risk/high risk youth through one-to-one mentoring relationships.

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashua is to make a positive difference in the lives of children primarily from single parent families. Our mission is accomplished by a professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationship between a caring, committed volunteer and a child who is in need of a positive role model, and a friend in his or her life.

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one child at a time!
