My personal message:

Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I started running a little over two years ago with the express purpose of completing the Boston Marathon as a tribute to my late Grandpa Rufus Grason and to raise funds for one of his favorite causes, the Eaton-Peabody Lab.  I haven't stopped running since - this will be my third Boston Marathon with the same goal.

Why do I keep at it?

Grandpa Rufus - Grandpa was one of the most amazing people you could hope to meet.  From a modest family grew a man strong enough in his convictions to be held by the Government.  Which led to him working at The Psycho-Acoustic Laboratory at Harvard University.  From this time grew the work he would become most known for, hearing testing equipment.  But what really set grandpa apart was his warm, caring personality.  One of the best experiences of this undertaking has been receiving notes from people who knew grandpa in which they share their memories and stories.  I'll be adding them to my blog as training continues.  When the runs get long, and my legs get tired, I remember that only once during his long battle with Parkinson's Disease did I hear Grandpa complain about the disease.  If he could do that, then I can go a few more miles.

Eaton-Peabody Laboratory - the Eaton-Peabody Laboratory is one of the world's largest basic research facilities dedicated to the study of hearing and deafness.  All of the funds I raise will support them in these research efforts.

How can you help?

This year I've set my fundraising target higher than in previous years, and I need your help to meet it.

Donate - Donating through this site is simple, fast and secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts.  If you would prefer to sponsor me by check please make it payable to The Foundation of MEEI and mail it to me at 55 Ames St., Medford, MA 02155

eBay - Times are tight and not everyone can donate money.  If you would like to donate something I could sell on eBay please get in touch with me at hrbill@me.com.  I will sell it on your behalf and count the proceeds in my fundraising in your name.

Words of Encouragement - There will be plenty of miles between now and April.  Your notes and words of encouragement help the miles pass easier.

Thank You

I want to thank you in advance for your support, no matter if it is just words of encouragement or a large donation.  Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward a link to this page to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
