DIRECTIONS TO START LOCATION: Kensington Metropark is located off Interstate 96 just east of US-23. From I-96, take exit 151/Kensington Rd and enter the park; there is a $5 entrance fee/car; After entering the park, drive about a half mile past the toll booth to the West Boat Launch Picnic Area on the right side of the road. The area is wheelchair accessible (the start point for the walk).
DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: We'll follow a 3.5 mile route along the paved footpaths of beautiful Kensington Park in Milford, Michigan. You'll get to make new friends and enjoy the exercise while walking for the good of the world. One billion people live in chronic hunger. Two children die of hunger every minute. By walking and fundraising in support of the walk you can feed the hungry and save real lives. Proceeds will go to BGR's global hunger relief programs in the U.S., Asia, Haiti, and Africa. A percentage of the day’s proceeds will benefit local food banks, including: Food Gatherers, Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank, Forgotten Harvest, and Gleaner’s Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.
