The Buddy Walk® was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society and has become the premier advocacy event for Down syndrome. In 2001 a group of local families organized the first Omaha Metro Buddy Walk. What started as a small celebration in a local park has become an event that draws over 2,500 participants to the campus of UNO to support our network of over 350 families residing in the Midlands.
