Chesapeake Center for Youth Development

Start Fundraising

Since 1974 CCYD has worked to uplift the lives of thousands of youth and families in the greater Baltimore area through the provision of educational opportunities, vocational training, counseling, and after school programming.

CCYD offers several programs to help disadvantaged and at-risk children and youth overcome barriers to success.  From after-school services to career preparation and job training, CCYD meets the needs of highly vulnerable youth.

What we Offer:

Workforce Development offers comprehensive job readiness training, career evaluation, skill training opportunities, internships and job placement to young people facing range of barriers to living productive lives.

CHANGZ After School Program operates directly out of Benjamin Franklin at Masonville Cove Community Academy, a Baltimore City Public School.  Changz is an award winning educational enrichment program that engages youth through a wide range of activities designed to help them learn and explore their talents to become successful students while getting involved in their community.

The Clinical Social Work & Counseling Program offers social work services and counseling and supports all CCYD programs and clients, including outreach to families. Counseling staff helps at-risk youth with behavioral issues and parents/guardians to improve the total family environment. One component is the Juvenile Intervention Family Independence Project (JIFI), serving Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City youth and families, providing community-based alternatives to juvenile detention and institutional placements.

Chesapeake Alternative School provides year-round Secondary, Pre-career, Pre-GED and GED education to 125 students, ages 13 to 21, each year. Students are referred by youth serving governmental agencies including the Department of Juvenile Services. Students reside throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area.
