While last year’s Hunger Walk resulted in record donations of over $30,000, we just recently set another record: CORA served over 10,300 people for the fiscal year ending June 30th. Compared with the last fiscal year, this represents an increase of over 25%. The exploding demand for our services has put an enormous financial strain on CORA. Soaring gas und food prices, combined with higher unemployment has driven more and more people into poverty.
We need your increased support in order to continue our mission. The Chatham Hunger Walk is our major fundraiser each year and will be held this year in Pittsboro, NC. Our challenge is to far surpass last year’s record for donations. Please consider joining one of the existing walking teams, forming your own walking team, or making an individual contribution to CORA.
