Children of the Heart began in 1995 for families and friends of people with Down syndrome.  COTH serves families in the La Crosse, WI county as well as counties in Southwest Wisconsin and Southeast Minnesota. The families that make up Children of the Heart are working together today to make a difference for tomorrow.  Our goal is to show that people with Down syndrome are more like their peers than different.  Funds raised provide scholarships for activities such as HorseSense for Special Riders, New Parent Baby bags, group music therapy and fellowship events throughout the year.

Register now for our Step UP for Down Syndrome Walk held on Oct. 1, 2011 at Riverside Park in La Crosse, WI.  You may register online by clicking on the link "Register for an event" at the top of this page by Sept. 16, 2011.  You may also register in person on the day of the event. Registration begins at 10:00 am with the Walk beginning at 11:00 am.

Registration levels are:

• Individual $15
• Family (up to 5 includes 2 adults and 3 children, 17 or younger)  $50
  • Each additional child, 17 or younger  $10
• Team of 6  $75
  • Each additional team member  $10
• Individual with Down syndrome  FREE
