My personal message:

Updated on September 8, 2008:
If you were on this site last year, you'll remember that my great niece, Erin, was going through a courageous battle with a Pituitary Brain Tumor, which was first diagnosed in June 2006.  Although her battle continues, she has been able to move into her own place and once again, assume the life of a young adult.  In January 2008, Erin underwent her 3rd surgery, but this time it was the less intrusive Gamma Knife procedure.  Her dream of returning to New York and continuing with her passion and talent for high style hairdresser has given way to the realities of staying in Californa, close to her doctors, where she can be monitored and still maintain health care coverage.  The good news is that Erin's quality of life continues to improve, and her life as a young adult is back on track.  Only time will tell whether her latest surgery stopped this insidious disease.                                                                                                        Updated on January 25, 2009:                                                           Erin's tumor seems to be a non-issue at this juncture; however there are some side effects of her treatment that are causing her to continue her valient fight.  Keep her in  your prayers!

Over 75% of the victims of brain tumors are under the age of 15 years, and of those 40% of them die within 5 years of diagnosis.  Those that don't parish are many times affected in very serious ways, including disrupted speech and thought patterns, loss of motor functions including the ability to walk, use of hands and arms, etc.  Impaired vision or blindness, hearing loss, in fact, loss of many or all of the senses can result from Pediatric Brain Tumors and the treatment for those malignant and sometimes benign tumors.

Adults seem to fair better then children when diagnosed with a brain tumor, which only supports the fact that pediatric brain tumors are the #1 malignancy causing  the death of so many children.   Because of the great strides in Leukemia research and treatment, Leukemia is now the #2 form of cancer in children.

Help me and many other motocyclists and scooterists in raising money to find a cure and better treatment for Pediatric Brain Tumors.  Money that you contribute to my site, right here and right now, with go directly to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.  The PBTF is the primary funding source for the research and treatment of pediatric brain tumors.  They are also active in supporting victims' families and awarding academic scholarships to the surviving victims aka "Stars" of this dreaded form of cancer.

Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts.

The night before the Northern California event, I will total the contributions made in the name of a dealership & club, and I'll apply all funds which I raised on this website to the club and dealership that had the most contributors on this website.

Last year the winning dealership was "California Speed-Sports" in Livermore and the winning club was the "Blue Knights CA VII" - - Oakland Chapter.  This year, why not contribute on behalf of and in support of your favorite motorcycle/motorscooter dealership and your favorite club!

FLASH: On 06/04/09, the "Red Neck Roosters" Off Road Motorcycle Club donated a $1,000.00 Check To the PBTF.  So, unless another club receives more donations on this site in their name, the "Red Neck Roosters" will receive credit for all the donations made on this site at the October 4th event!  Congratulations & Thanks

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

John & Louise
