At 3 1/2 years old, Charley Seckler was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the number one fatal genetic disorder to affect children around the world. At the time of his diagnosis, Charley's parents were told there was no cure or treatment and that they would have to watch this disease take their son's life. That was not going to be the case!
Over the past 7 years, Charley's Fund has raised and put almost $20m into research. Charley is now 11 years old and for the first time ever, a therapy for Duchenne is within reach and Duchenne families have hope!
Please help us fulfill our mission of directing money into the hands of researchers who have the best shot at developing a treatment or cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy by participating in one of our many of events. Simply click on the green "Start Fundraising" button above, select your preferred event, and choose to set up your own fundraising page or donate to someone who already is participating. To date, our events are:
- August 11, 2012: The Second Annual Charley's Ride (bike ride through the Berkshires)
- October 14, 2012: The Third Annual "Race Against Time" (half mile, 1.7 mile or stroll through Central Park in New York City)
WHAT IS DUCHENNE?

- There currently is no treatment or cure for Duchenne.
- Duchenne is 100% fatal.
