I finished the marathon in 5:35! I won't lie, it was rough. It took pain killers and Ian jumping in at mile 16.5 to get me to the finish line. It was really hot- 70 degrees (I have the sunburn to prove it)!
I have until May 21, 2008 to raise my goal of $3500. Please consider donating!
Marathon mileage: 205 miles! (February-April)
Frequently asked questions (New ones!):
Q. What is your longest run so far?
A: I ran 18 miles through Cambridge, Arlington, Lexington, and Bedford about three weeks ago. I even ran past a manure farm!
Q: What's the worst weather you've run in?
A: I ran in a snowstorm on Friday, February 22nd. It was 23 degrees but the windchill was 15! That's the coldest I've ever run in.
Q: How are you keeping your body injury free?
A: Lots of yoga, stretching, and massages. I even cross train one day a week. Plus I'm sleeping at least 9 hours a night and eating right (lots of whole wheat carbs and fruit and protein, in addition to jelly beans, tofuitti cuties, and oatmeal cookies)
Q: What gets you through the long runs?
A: I've discovered red sport jelly beans (made by Jelly Belly). They keep my hunger in check and help me keep going (along with the Gatorade I carry in my fuel belt). Plus I have a pretty sweet mix on my ipod that motivates me.
Thanks for your support. It means the world to me! Please pass the site along to anyone you think might dontate! I'll see you at the finish line!
