Promoting Firstgiving's online fundraising pages:
best practices

Why not let your supporters know that they can raise money
easily and efficiently by using Firstgiving?

Here are a few ideas:

  1. Put a link to Firstgiving on your web site. You can suggest that people use Firstgiving to make fundraising for their run, walk or other event easier; you can also suggest that people raise money for you online when they are looking for a way to help.

Marine Corps Reserve Association (also here,

  2. Email your supporters: Send a short email including a link to Firstgiving to your supporters lets them know that they can raise funds for you online; try mentioning it in your email newsletters, too.

  3. Set up your own online fundraising page. Firstgiving pages can be used to raise money for specific needs or special projects.
Lucky Dog Rescue has had success doing this:

    http://www.firstgiving.com/parvopup
  4. Add a link in your email signature:  Every email you send out will let supporters know that they can raise funds online for you.

  5. Share the news with colleagues. Tell your co-workers and partners about Firstgiving and ask them to set up their own page to get an office buzz going.
