Once
you've created your fundraising page, there are still a bunch of
features you can use to let other people know about what you're
doing.
You can put a widget or badge linking to your Firstgiving page on
your blog, website, MySpace or other online profile.
A badge is a graphical element (a button,
if you will) that you can paste into your blog or other online
space to link to your fundraising page. Get a badge.
A widget is a snapshot of your fundraising
page that you can post on your blog, website or social networking
site. You can also ask your friends to post your widget on their
blogs. Learn how to get a widget.
Tags are descriptive keywords you can add to your
fundraising page. When you click on a tag, you are able to see other
fundraising pages which share the same tags.
For example, someone running the New York Marathon dressed as a rhinoceros
might tag his fundraising page with the words New York, marathon
and rhino.
Add tags when you set up your page, or afterward
by logging into your
Firstgiving
Account.
RSS is a standard format used to share content on the internet and
receive updates from your favorite websites without having to visit
each site.
You can use this to keep tabs on your fundraising progress by clicking
on the orange RSS button on the bottom right of your page and adding
the feed to your RSS reader.
