The Foundation for MetroWest connects philanthropic opportunity with demonstrated need in MetroWest. We promote philanthropy in the region, help donors maximize the impact of their local giving, serve as a resource for local nonprofit organizations and enhance the quality of life for all of our citizens.
The Foundation for MetroWest offers capacity-building programs, strategic education services, and community forums on philanthropy that help people understand the needs of the region and how best to address them. The Foundation also offers services to financial advisors – working with them as they advise clients on philanthropic planning and investments.
Donor Services: The Foundation manages philanthropic initiatives for donors and nonprofits while reducing administrative challenges and providing greater tax advantages. The Foundation’s expertise is valuable not only for those who know where they want to give, but also for the many residents who want to give back to their communities but may not have the time or inclination to identify pressing local needs that address personal giving goals.
Grant-making: The Foundation awards grants and scholarships annually throughout MetroWest. The Foundation’s initiatives address community-specific issues as well as challenges affecting the region as a whole.
Youth In Philanthropy: The nation is preparing for a massive transfer of wealth. This will create opportunities and challenges for raising socially-responsible youths. To address this, the Foundation for MetroWest is taking a lead in educating today’s youth about the critical importance of philanthropy through its Youth in Philanthropyinitiative, which enables educators and families to engage young people in the collaborative decision-making essential to effective philanthropy
The Fund for Wellesley- An Endowment of the Foundation for MetroWest
The mission of the Fund for Wellesley is to promote the common good and to benefit all residents of the Town. The Fund for Wellesley is a permanent source of funding that fosters innovation and collaboration in support of community needs and opportunities. We seek to foster a spirit of philanthropic giving to help make Wellesley a better place for its citizens in which to live, work and play. We provide ways for our donors to give back and leave a legacy in their community.
The Fund for Wellesley is an endowment of the Foundation for Metrowest that supports new ideas and creative solutions for Wellesley long term and short term. It was established to raise and distribute money to deserving programs and projects that benefit the town and its residents. In addition, it complements existing funds that have singular purposes. The Fund for Wellesley serves as a resouce for those who wish to ensure a vibrant town that is responsive to a diversity of opportunities and needs. The Fund acts as a catalyst seeking new ideas, approaches and collaborations through an intensive grant application process, bringing innovative thinking to issues big and small.
The Fund is not a substitute for public support of the Town's operating and capital budgets. Rather, it supports projects that go beyond what is essential by fostering services and programs that ensure Wellesley remains a town of unique character and value.
