HAWC provides free, comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, and their children, in 23 cities and towns across the North Shore. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, advocacy in courts, police departments and healthcare settings; trauma recovery counseling for adults and children; support groups; economic stability services; relocation and rental assistance; prevention education in schools and communities.
Sunday, May 6, 2012 - This year The Walk for HAWC is celebrating it's 20th anniversary! The Walk for HAWC is a five mile walk through Salem, Massachusetts to raise awareness about domestic violence and support HAWC. This year's Walk will begin and end at the Salem Common, with festivities and registration beginning at 11:00AM. Pre and post-walk festivities make this a great family event - bring the family, the dog and all of your closest friends to help support HAWC. Each year, the Walk has over 1,000 North Shore participants. This year, we hope to raise $200,000 to support HAWC's free domestic violence programs.
