"No animal is ever turned away". The Humane Society of Central Texas is committed to improving the quality of life for animals and people in Central Texas through humane sheltering, community education and advocacy on behalf of all animals. The Humane Society of Central Texas does this through these primary ways: Receiving lost and unwanted animals brought to the shelter. Providing a safe, clean environment for homeless animals while they are at the facility. Returning lost animals to their owners or placing them in good homes. Educating the public about the pet over-population problem and the importance of spaying and neutering, thus diminishing the need to euthanize animals to control over-population. Educating the public about humane care for animals.
