Paws in the Park
Waco, TX March 23, 2012: The annual Paws in the Park event is the spring fundraiser for the Humane Society of Central Texas. This family fun event will feature celebrated “Walk Teams” who will lead the 1-mile “Woof Walk” at Indian Spring Park. This community event is geared towards improving the health and relationships between pet and pet owners, pet wellness, pet behavior tips, animal welfare, pet owner disaster plans, and humane education. Low cost pet vaccinations and microchips will be available. Statewide rescue groups will provide breed specific education and some will have adoptable pets. The annual “Blessing Of The Animals” will be performed. The Children’s area will encourage healthy kids, and humane education by Angel Paws teaching children how to be a responsible pet owner. The Waco Agility Group will give exciting obstacle course demonstrations by their talented agility dogs. The Humane Society will have adorable shelter dogs, cats and foster pets available for adoption during the event. Prizes will be given for pet contest, like Best Costume, Pet/Owner Look-A-Like, and Best Trick. Tickets are $20 for adults and include a goodie bag , t-shirt and hot dog lunch, $5.00 for children ages 3-12 that include goodie bag and lunch but no t-shirt. (Ticket not required for low cost vaccinations or low cost microchips) Sign up your “Walk Team” by April 23 to qualify for prizes!
