Welcome to Humane Society Calumet Area's Fundraising Page
Humane Society Calumet Area (HSCA) has been providing vital services to the Calumet region since 1941. In 2014, HSCA helped 1,750 abandoned animals find homes and reunited 191 lost animals with their families.
HSCA's mission is to lead the community in the humane treatment of animals. Working individually and in partnership with similar valued organizations, we will create a humane community for all animals through education, advocacy, and the promotion of respect and compassion.
HSCA also is very active within the community by providing the following services:
• Since opening to low-income members of the public in July 2012, the Estelle Marcus Clinic has provided more than 7,500 spay and neuter surgeries to those with financial hardship.
• The HSCA Pet Therapy Team brings puppies to visit with the residents of local nursing homes and assisted living facilities four times a month.
• The HSCA Humane Education Team helps teach local children throughout the region about pet safety and compassion.
• HSCA’s Moraine Ridge Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Valparaiso, Ind. opened its doors in July 2014 and helped rehabilitate 100 small orphaned and injured mammals in 2014.
