Bark in the Park
5k Run and 2k Dog Walk
Saturday, October 1
9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Bark in the Park is a great way to have fun with your pet and help Henrico Humane Society raise money to care for homeless cats and dogs in the Greater Richmond area.
Admission to the event is free! Activities include:
- 5k Run
- 2k Dog Walk
- 30 vendors
- Acoustic Music by OminOtagO
- Performance by Jonathan Austin
- Moonwalk & Petting Zoo
- Dog Contest & Adoptions
- Food and more!
5k Run:
- $25 Registration fee ($10 for children age 12-6, under 6 are free)
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall runners (both male and female).
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st place runners in each age group.
- Great Random Prizes (must be present to win)!
- T-shirts will be provided to the first 100 runners to register online.
- No dogs or strollers.
- Registration/check-in begins at 8 a.m. Race starts at 9 a.m.
- Rain date Oct. 2.
2k Dog Walk:
- $25 Registration fee ($10 for children age 12-6, under 6 are free)
- Prizes will be awarded to the top individuals and teams that raise the most money!
- T-shirts will be provided to the first 100 walkers to register online.
- Registration/check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. Walk starts at 10:30 a.m.
NOTE: The road leading to the event field will be closed from 8:45 a.m. until the last runner crosses the finish line (around 9:45 a.m.). If you arrive during this time you will need to park in the Recreation Center lot and take the shuttle (2 minute drive) or walk (5 minutes) to the event.

On-line registration ends at midnight on September 28. After then, you will need to register at the event beginning at 8 a.m. for the 5k run or 9:30 am for the 2k Dog Walk. Only cash or checks will be accepted at the event.
