 Fox Cities and Oshkosh

There is no doubt that this new year brings with it a host of challenges for our economy and our communities. Junior Achievement remains in the forefront of business and financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness education. We have had an increase in requests for Junior Achievement programs from our educators. Many equate this economic crisis as "our hurricane". Like the American Red Cross, when a hurricane hits, the Red Cross receives an increase in demand for services and consequently needs to raise a greater amount of funds to provide services.

Many JA supporters have voiced their opinion that if every citizen had financial literacy, we may have avoided the economic crisis.

In an era when many businesses are worried about their own finances, we have continued to receive financial support from advocates of our mission who see the value in our programs. Some companies and individuals have increased their donations, knowing that their generosity may help make up any shortfall that result from some companies that can't donate at this time. We greatly appreciate their generous support.

We need help now, more than ever before. Not only financial support, but volunteer support to help meet the increased requests from school districts around the Fox Cities and Oshkosh.

$500 brings JA's programs to an entire classroom of students for a semester. This covers all program materials, volunteer training, supplies, service and evaluation for each of the classes taught by business volunteers. JA's programs are free to the schools. Your fundraising helps JA to empower youth through education. We think that this is an exciting new tool and hope that you will take advantage of it to help support Junior Achievement in the Fox Cities and Oshkosh.
