Help JA of Mahoning Valley raise dollars for JA's K-12 programs and impact 9,000 youth in the the Mahoning Valley through one of our special events (Bowl A Thon, Golf Classic and Fund Drive) held throughout the year. WHAT IS JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT (JA)? Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.
Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action, and learn the value of contributing to their communities.
Locally JA of Mahoning Valley reached over 9,000 students in 400 classrooms during the 2008-2009 school year and over 250 men and women will volunteer their time in the classroom. These passionate volunteers, investors, educators, and local leaders, are individuals who care enough to make a difference in a child's life through the enrichment with the JA experience. For many children, experiencing JA is seeing an activity and visualizing a future where their dreams can become reality.
Revenue for programs is raised locally through a corporate fund drive, individual gift campaign, foundation support, and three special events including a bowl-a-thon, golf classic, and an on-line auction.
