Heart disease touches all of us in some way.   Our family, our friends, our colleagues, everyone is affected!    

Heart disease has had a deep impact on my family.  That's my mom in the picture with me.   We could have lost her when she was just 29 years old to heart disease.  We didn't, thankfully, but she still suffers those pesky heart problems on occasion.  And she's not very old!

My grandparents, my in-laws, my uncles and aunts....heart disease and stroke are very close to my heart.   That's part of the reason I work at The Hope Heart Institute.  The work we do here truly makes a difference for people! 

Our researchers are finding new ways to change the face of heart disease and stroke in this country.  Our education programs and teaching people of ALL ages how to make a difference now that will last a lifetime.
