Thank you so much for participating in LAVA's 2011 Handstand-a-Thon.
We have set a goal of $23,000 this year, so that we can continue developing our community programs you have helped us create. The fundraising through our annual Handstand-a-Thon is what allows us to offer need-based scholarships, discounts, and work-study options for class tuitions for students of all ages, as well as our FREE weekly Community Class for kids and continue our partnership with P.S. 9. Your contribution also supports our free, open performance events: free in-studio showings of LAVA’s works-in-progress, Night of Renegades (all ages) and Magma Mix (kids). Combined, these community programs offer performances and acrobatic instruction for nearly 1,200 people in the Prospect Heights/Crown Heights neighborhoods in a given year.
Here are ways you can help us reach our goal:
- Make a donation
- Write a personal email to your friends and family encouraging them to make a donation to you online through your personal fundraising page tied to this event at www.firstgiving.com/yourname
just click the Get Started button above - Bring your friends to the Handstand-a-Thon on May 15th, 2pm at the LAVA Studio
- Come stand on your hands and help us reach our time goal of a collective 15,000 seconds. Whether your handstand is 10 seconds, 45 seconds, or even 2 minutes, all of it helps us reach our goal.
- Become a “Handstand Spotter” by sponsoring a specific challenge, for example:
a. $500 if we get 25 people do 30 second handstands at the same time
b. Match all money raised by anyone under the age of 12
c. Or come up with your own challenge and email it to: diana@lavabrooklyn.org
Thank you!
