First of all I would like take this opportunity to say how honored I am to be part of Team Eye and Ear. This year will be my fourth marathon. It was always someone or something motivating me to the finish line, and it wasnt about the personal accomplishment of finishing. It was "this ones for you", and "who does this help".  

Unfortunately last year I was deployed to Iraq and didnt have the opportunity to come home. This year however is very special. On 22 August, 2007 I lost my best friend CPL Jessy Pollard when his Blackhawk Helicopter crashed in Northern Iraq. CPL. Pollard was always about helping people. He would go to uncharted areas to help anyone he knew.

With that in mind this year having the chance to run for Team Eye and Ear we now all have a chance to help. Help on many levels such as research and patient care to those with vision and hearing loss.

Again I am very happy to have joined the team representing the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
