The divorce rate for first-time marriages is 45%; 60% for second marriages; 66% for marriages that create stepfamilies. Divorce is not an easier option than staying together. Divorced people are generally poorer, experience less good health, less satisfied with their lives, and their children have more difficult life outcomes. Learning and applying simple skills allows couples to experience a happy, satisfying marriage and exposes their children (and others) to the example of a healthy relationship.
